For all of us there are times when we experience problems or difficulties which may be helped by therapy. These may include:
* anxiety
* feeling low
* low self esteem
* uncertain sexual identity/gender issues
* unhappy relationships
* Bereavement and loss (e.g redundancy)
* feeling lonely and isolated
* stress
* work related problems
* suicidal feelings or thoughts
* trauma related difficulties, including sexual abuse
* destructive patterns of behaviour including phobias, obsessions, eating disorders and self-harm
* physical symptoms which might have an emotional basis
It may be that you have no particular pressing difficulties but seek greater self-knowledge and wish to develop your potential. Therapy might also be able to help you in that journey.
I offer Jungian/psychodynamic therapy, which has its roots in the analytical psychology (Jung) and psychoanalytic (Freud) traditions. As such, I tend to work in depth, on an open-ended basis. However, I also offer focused, time-limited counselling.
It should be remembered that therapy and counselling are not magic cures. At times it can feel hard going. This is a fairly common experience. However, through the therapy/counselling process you might well gain an insight into your patterns of behaviour that are causing difficulties.
